AI Create Dashboard

Overview

The AI Create Dashboard capability allows for quick, interactive dashboard creation. By using natural language prompts on the Create tab of the Shibumi Chatbot, you can request a dashboard of the items you’d like to see. The Chatbot will respond to your prompt to configure a dashboard including a table, cards, and even page filters (depending on the data included).

If the item has a default Table section defined on the Template, Shibumi AI will utilize that default configuration upon creating the Dashboard. This includes automatically creating Cards and Page Filters based off the columns included in the default Table (e.g., if a Number column is included in the default Table, a Card will be created displaying that value. If an Association column is included in the default Table, a Work Item Page Filter will automatically be created and tied to the Table filters). AI Create Dashboard will always add a default Table if one exists and will add additional attributes if they are specifically requested in the chat.

Once the dashboard is created, you can immediately begin using it as-is or you can manually adjust to apply additional formatting, add charts, etc.

Creating a Dashboard via AI Create

The steps below demonstrate an example of the AI Create Dashboard feature in action.

  1. Create a new Dashboard from the Add Dashboard dialog.
  2. Navigate to the newly created Dashboard and open the Chatbot.
  3. Enter a prompt including the type of items to view and the data to display. Click submit. For example:
    • “Create a dashboard of Initiatives with the following columns: Workstream, Stage, Strategic Objective, and Estimated Annual Benefit.”
    • “Show Objectives with the Owner, Anticipated Start Date, and Total Value.”
  4. The dashboard will quickly configure based on the information requested through the Chatbot.
    • A Table section will be created and include all requested attributes. If there is a default Table defined for the item (Template), this will be added to the Dashboard and influence the configuration of subsequent sections and filters.
    • When numeric attributes are included, Cards will be added showing the aggregation of their values. Drill down will be enabled.
    • When association attributes are included, a Work Item page filter will be added to the Dashboard and will be hooked up to the Card(s) and Table.
    • When pick list attributes are included, an Attribute page filter will be added to the Dashboard and will be hooked up to the Card(s) and Table.
    • If you do not know what data is available, ask the Chatbot “What columns can I add?”
  5. Additional prompts can be sent to the Chatbot for further configuration, such as:
    • “What other pick list columns can I add?”
    • “Add Complexity Rating”
    • “Remove the Stage field”
  6. The Chatbot will modify the dashboard in response to additional prompts entered.
  7. Once you begin manually modifying a dashboard, AI Create Dashboard should no longer be used as it can clear out those manual edits.
